Sky Movies to screen Miramax motion library

British Sky Broadcasting and film company Miramax have joined together with a multi-year movie library exclusive licensing agreement which will see Sky Movies broadcast their pick of flicks ranging from Captain Corelli’s Mandolin to Starsky & Hutch.

“It’s great to be working with Miramax as they build out their business and make more of their titles available to us. The deal will give Sky Movies customers exclusive access to some of the best titles from Miramax’s unrivaled archive, including such iconic modern classics as Pulp Fiction and Chicago.” Says Simon Rexworthy, controller of acquisitions at BSkyB.

The agreement will see the Miramax film library screened across the pay-tv network of Sky Movie channels and on-demand service Sky Anytime. Sky Movies launched in 1989 as a single channel with several others spin-off options over the years added to the satellite networks range of channels. These currently include dedicated movie channels for archive classics, comedy, action and family options.
