Million Pound Drop gets sporty for the Summer

Channel 4 is to air eight special episodes of The Million Pound Drop in celebration of Britain’s historic summer of sport.

“Over four weekends a mixture of top class celebrities and noted sportsmen from the Paralympic Games, Olympic Games and other sporting fields, will be tasked with the challenge of raising as much money as they can for charity.” The press office say.

Presented by Davina McCall, The Million Pound Drop – Celebrity Games will see the contestants be given one million pounds in cash at the top of the show; all they have to do is keep hold of it over eight tricky questions. Played out on The Drop, the possible answers to each question are displayed on four trapdoors, where one wrong answer can see thousands of pounds drop through the floor. Across each weekend our celebrities will be working together to raise as much money as possible, and if they do particularly well they could even win bonus money to boost their prize pot.

David Flynn, creator of The Million Pound Drop Live comments: “In this summer of sport, celebrities will face the ultimate challenge as they try to break records and make lots of money against the toughest competitor of all – The Million Pound Drop”

The Million Pound Drop – Celebrity Games will launch later this summer on Channel 4. The broadcaster also adds that viewers will be able to play along with an online game or with the show’s mobile app.
