Is Coleen Nolan in the Mood for Big Brother?

The singer-turned-presenter is according to a tabloid newspaper being ‘lined up’ to star in the next series of Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother.

The Sun suggests that she has been offered a contract, worth six figures, for the next CBB which starts in September. Coleen in recent years has formed a television career with over a decade on talk show Loose Women and two spells with This Morning, first as a stand-in presenter for regular host Fern Britton during 2002 and for the past two years as one of a rotation of presenters on the show’s interactive hub – reading out viewer comments.

“Coleen gives good chat and that’s what we’re really looking for on the show. She also appeals to women so she’s a great booking for the show.” An ‘insider’ told the paper.

The mother-of-three has been known to cause controversy with her views, which is just the kind of thing Big Brother thrives on. Notably the highlight of her taboo outbursts being in 2005 when she told Loose Women viewers she promised her, then 16-year-old, son Shane a visit to Amsterdam if he passed his GCSEs. However she also claimed she would pay for him to have sex with a prostitute on the holiday. Father to the teen, Shane Richie, was said to be ‘disgusted and appalled’.
However prior to presenting she was best known as one of the Nolan’s, the all-singing, all-dancing Irish pop act which bust onto the music scene in 1974. The group comprised of seven Nolan sisters, their biggest hits being I’m In The Mood For Dancing, Attention To Me and Gotta Pull Myself Together.
Coleen left This Morning and ITV behind last week, stating she had a ‘number of new projects lined up.’
