The medical soap opera was nominated in 23 different categories picking up more nods than its rivals – the nearest its rivals came to were 16 for CBS‘s The Young and the Restless. General Hospital was named Best Drama Series beating the sadly missed All My Children as well as NBC‘S Days of our Lives and The Young and the Restless.

Heather Tom picked up the Lead Actress award for her role of Katie Logan in The Bold and the Beautiful. The Younger actor award went to Days of our Lives actor Chandler Massy while Christel Khalil won the Young Actress award for her part in The Young and the Restless.
Days of our Lives picked up the award for Series Writing Team coming after NBC chopped and changed the soap opera’s head-writers earlier this year in a bid to boost ratings.
