David Warner To Appear In Doctor Who

Renowned actor David Warner is to appear in the next series of Doctor Who.
The actor’s appearance in the long-running BBC sci-fi series was revealed in the latest edition of the Doctor Who Magazine. Warner will appear in an episode penned by Mark Gatiss which is currently in production at Doctor Who‘s studios in Cardiff. As yet details of the Warner’s character has not bee revealed. The episode will air next year on BBC One and will be directed by Douglas MacKinnon. The episode will feature Jenna-Louise Coleman in her role as Doctor Who‘s new companion.
The role is not Warner’s first association with Doctor Who; in the 1970s he was one of several actors considered by Barry Letts and Terrance Dicks for the role of the fourth Doctor which eventually went to Tom Baker. More recently the actor has lent his voice for the animated adventure Dreamland and for Big Finish audio dramas where he played an alternative version of the Doctor as part of the Unbound range. Warner also took on the role of time agent Steel in Big Finish‘s range of audio dramas Sapphire and Steel based on television series created by P.J Hammond.
Warner has a long varied career with many credits to his name; he appeared in the horror film The Omen, Planet of the Apes, Tron, The Lost World and Titanic. He appeared in Star Trek: The Final Frontier and Star Trek: The Undiscovered Country in different roles and also appeared in the television series Star Trek: The Next Generation playing a third character. The actor also appeared in an episode of Star Trek‘s television rival Babylon 5 and well as the critically acclaimed quirky soap Twin Peaks. Warner’s most recent television credits include Sky drama Mad Dogs, BBC One drama Wallander and ITV‘s Wild at Heart.
