Former Doctor Who producer Beth Willis has been appointed as the new Deputy Head of Drama for Channel Four. Willis’ new role will see the producer reunited with Piers Wenger; the two worked together on Doctor Who.
Channel4 today announced the appointment of Beth Willis as the new Deputy Head of Drama. Beth will report to Head of Drama Piers Wenger and will be responsible for originating, developing and commissioning drama programming for the broadcaster’s portfolio of channels, including Channel 4 and E4.

Previously Beth produced the first two series of Ashes to Ashes for Kudos/BBC before moving to the BBC to become an Executive Producer on the new Doctor Who alongside Steven Moffat and Piers Wenger. While at the BBC she also co-executive produced the BAFTA and RTS award-winning, Eric and Ernie, written by Peter Bowker and starring Victoria Wood. Beth joins Channel 4 from Kudos Film and Television, where she was an Executive Producer.
Beth will take up her role at Channel 4 in late September.
