Denis O'Hare Teases New True Blood Romance

Denis O’Hare has teased his vampire character of Russell Edgington will find love in the fifth season.

O’Hare reprises his role of Russell Edgington, the Vampire King of Mississippi, in the forthcoming fifth season which launches alter this month. The actor has teased that Russell will find enter into a new romance during the fifth season with a pre-existing character.

“He’s taller than I am, but he’s not as good a dresser….on hair terms, we’re on par, neck and neck because I wear a wig, of course, but his hair is pretty rockin’. I think I still win on the hair thing.” – Denis O’Hare speaking to TV Guide

In the third season Russell was in a long-term relationship with Talbot (Theo Alexander) and it was stated the two had been lovers for hundreds of years. Talbot met a gruesome death at the hands of Eric (Alexander Skarsgard) who killed the vampire in revenge for Russell’s slaughter of his Viking family hundreds of years previously.

The fifth season of True Blood will also see the return of Alfre Wood as Ruby Jean Reynolds the mother of Lafayette (Nelsan Ellis) for two episodes. New additions to the cast include Christopher Meloni, Peter Mensah and Lucy Griffiths.

True Blood returns to HBO on June 10th.
