Following the successful launch of Capital Shopping Centres location partnership with the Elite Model Look UK Competition 2012, LOOK magazine and LOOK Beauty, Lakeside Shopping Centre will be bucking the Only Way is Essex trend and ending the competition with a special appearance from Made in Chelsea star Jamie Laing.
22-year-old Jamie is heir to the McVitie’s fortune and his ancestors are credited with creating the jaffa cake, digestive and rich tea biscuit. Carrying on the tradition, Jamie’s biggest plan in life is to open a ‘sexy sweet shop’ where customers will be served by ‘Candy Kittens’.
A bad night out for Jamie is “one where I don’t pull.” In the past he’s had a thing with Caggie and Millie but thinks relationships are overrated because he’s too young to settle down. He is, however, 100% committed to the business of having fun and loves to party in Berlin, St Tropez and New York or at Public and The Box when he’s in London.
His three special powers are that he doesn’t sweat, never tires and can sleep anywhere. He is most scared of his bank manager.
Jamie says: “I hate to miss out and I can’t say no. This can lead to trouble.”
On Saturday 16th June, The Made in Chelsea cheeky chap will be making a personal appearance in centre between 4pm-5pm before watching a fashion show with models scouted at Lakeside and taking part in a photocall with the Essex finalists.
The prestigious model search that launched the careers of modelling royalty including Cindy Crawford, Stéphanie Seymour, Gisele Bundchen, Constance Jablonskiand more recently model of the moment Nyasha Mathondoze, has already visited Trafford Centre, Manchester, Metrocentre, Gateshead , Braehead, Glasgow, Victoria Centre, Nottingham with hundreds of people across the UK trying out to be fashion’s new face.
Elite Model Look UK scouts select 24 UK finalists, 12 girls and 12 boys who will be whisked off for an intensive week-long model bootcamp. Local guys and girls from each region will go from shopping in their local CSC centre straight into catwalk training, hair and make-up tutorials, health and fitness advice and confidence coaching.
A national finale will take place in July, attended by top UK fashion industry experts and celebrity guests where judges will pick one female and one male winner on the night. The female winner will take part in the Elite Model Look World Final. The male winner will be sent on an all-expenses paid trip to Milan to walk in Men’s Fashion Week with some of the world’s most renowned designers.
Additionally, one lucky female finalist will be chosen to be the face of LOOK Beauty, Look magazine’s new make-up range. The winner’s campaign will feature in Superdrug stores nationwide plus advertising. The girl will also receive an Elite Model contract and editorial spread in Look.
