Lucy Lawless Pleads Guilty To Trespass

Actress and activist Lucy Lawless has pleaded guilty to trespass after boarding a oil-drilling ship to protest.

Lawless and other activities boarded the oil-drilling ship that was docked in New Zealand to protest at the devastating environmental consequences of Arctic oil exploration. The actress and five other Green Peace protestors spent four days perched on-top of the drilling tower of the Noble Discoverer which was docked in Port Taranaki in New Zealand. The four day protest took place in February.

The actress will be sentenced in September and faces a maximum three years in jail! Lawless is well known for a wide variety of roles most recently playing Lucretia in Starz‘s historical drama Spartacus appearing in the first two seasons and prequel mini-series. Lawless, of course, played the title character in Xena: Warrior Princess and also played Cylon D’Anna Biers on Syfy‘s Battlestar Galactica.

  • Lucy deserves a medal for what she did not a jail sentence! we can’t allow these oil companies to rape the world in their rentless search for bigger profits. lucy stood up for what was right and she deserves to be recognised for that!
