TNT Strikes Rich Ratings With Dallas

The premier of Dallas hit big ratings for TNT on Wednesday evening with nearly 7 million viewers tuning in.

It seems as though viewers are very keen to return to Southfork and catch up with the Ewing family as the premier of TNT’s updated Dallas was a hit with viewers. While it has met with a mixed reaction from critics first impressions from viewers are obviously more favourable. According to overnight figures the premier was seen by an average of 6.8 million viewers making it the No.1 scripted premier on cable so far this year.

Dallas stars original cast members Larry Hagman, Linda Gray and Patrick Duffy alongside new stars Brenda Strong, Jesse Metcalfe, Josh Henderson and Jordana Brewster. It continues the story of the Ewing family and Ewing Oil 20 years after the original series concluded in 1991.

A break down of Dallas‘ ratings reveal 1.9 million were in the 18-49 demo while 2.4 million were in the 25-54 demo. It will be interesting to see if Dallas ratings hold up for subsequent episodes.

In the UK Dallas will air on Channel Five later this year.
