Live Millionaire Wins 9PM Slot For ITV1

Millionaire returned last night to ITV1 live and without celebrities.

Live Who Wants To Be A Millionaire: The People Play was the first time in a few years that ordinary members of the public have taken to the chair to try and win £1 million. Hosted by Chris Tarrant it attracted 4 million viewers to ITV1 at 9.00pm, winning the slot.

Over on BBC One, Blackout dropped considerably, down to 2.9 million viewers from the near 4.5 million the week before. On BBC Two at 8.00pm, Volcano Live kicked off with Kate Humble, gaining 2.5 million viewers.

On Channel 5 at 9.00pm, Big Brother attracted a total of 1.5 million viewers as fans watched the final day of the turf wars task.

Big Brother has hit the headlines today after it was revealed Ofcom are to investigate a number of incidents which have occurred over the past two weeks.
