New satire series for BBC Three
A new satirical series for BBC Three will air this summer.
The Revolution Will Be Televised will feature fictional characters and stunt-led sketches. The programme was behind the recent stunt of Chancellor George Osborne being handed a GCSE Maths book last month at Mansion House.
The six part series is produced by Hat Trick Productions, the company behind Have I Got News For You and Facejacker, and is set to ‘bring corruption, greed and hypocrisy to the fore and drag it to the court of public opinion’.
Heydon Prowse and Jolyon Rubinstein are the main instigators of the show who first came to prominence via a number of online videos. Described as ‘fearless’ they now make the transition from making viral videos to television.
Zai Bennett, Controller of BBC Three, who was part of the commissioning team, says:
“Heydon and Jolyon are completely fearless and slightly insane. We love them.”
