BBC Newsroom opens for business at New Broadcasting House

The BBC’s new newsroom  opens for business.
The transition from Television Centre to New Broadcasting House is underway which will see television, radio and online news teams move to the newly built attachment of the iconic BBC Broadcasting House in London.
At 11:00 BST on Monday World Briefing was broadcast live from studio SL1 for World Service audiences and the World online team has been publishing coverage from the new newsroom for UK and international online news services.
Head of BBC multimedia newsroom Mary Hockaday wrote on her blog that this was a ‘big day’ for her team.

“Our job in New Broadcasting House for years to come is to produce brilliant BBC news services from an ambitious newsroom. That work starts today.” – Mary Hockaday

Over the next few months UK Online, World News and teams that produce the news bulletins for many national radio stations will begin to move in. This will be followed by BBC News Channel and then the main BBC One national news programmes.
