Man arrested in computer hacking probe

Officers from Operation Tuleta have arrested a man in Cardiff today.


Tuleta, which is running alongside Operation Weeting (phone-hacking inquiry) and Operation Elveden (corruption) have today arrested a 55-year-old man in Cardiff.
The man was arrested at his home at approximately 7.00am for suspected offences under the Computer Misuse Act 1990 andĀ Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act and is in custody at a police station in the Cardiff area.
The Met Police have said theĀ  “arrest is not directly linked to any news organisation or the activities of journalists.”
Earlier this week two journalists were arrested by officers investigating allegations of inappropriate payments to police and public officials. They have been bailed to return pending further inquiries.
