Jason O'Mara Criticises Fox Over Terra Nova Axe
Jason O’Mara has criticised Fox for its decision to axe its sci-fi series Terra Nova after just one season.
O’Mara played Jim Shannon alongside Shelley Conn, Christine Adams, Stephen Lang and Rod Hallett in the sci-fi series about a group of colonists from the future travelling back millions of years in time to start again. Terra Nova aired on Fox last Autumn, after a delayed premier, and attracted average ratings.
Fox took its time deciding the fate of the series most likely because of its expensive price tag – reportedly $4million per episode. In the end though Fox decided not to renew Terra Nova for a second series. That decision and the time it took to make it has been criticised by O’Mara. Speaking to reporters at the TCA, where he was promoting his new CBS series Vegas, the actor said “I felt like Fox took an awful long time to make what was ultimately a premature decision….. A decision could have been made earlier.”
Vegas will launch on CBS on 25th September. It will also star Dennis Quaid, Michael Chiklis and the newly announced addition to the cast; Sarah Jones.
