Susan Flannery to quit The Bold and the Beautiful?
Susan Flannery has reportedly decided to quit CBS soap opera The Bold and the Beautiful.
Flannery, an original cast member of the daytime soap, has according to reports decided to quit the series. The actress plays matriarch Stephanie Forrester on the Los Angeles based soap and has been a firm fixture for all 25 years the soap has been on-air so far. The character has been at the centre of the action in The Bold and the Beautiful as Stephanie ruled her family with an iron rod and interfered in every aspect of their lives but now it seems her reign of terror may well be over.
CBS Soaps In Depth report the actress has signed only a short-term contract with The Bold and the Beautiful to remain long enough for a storyline to be crafted for the characters’ exit. There have been, of course, rumours in the past regarding the actress’ future with the soap which have all proven to be false but this time it certainly seems to be true. That’s because the reports come just two weeks after fellow original cast member Ronn Moss, who plays Ridge Forrester, revealed he would be leaving the soap and the part likely to be recast.
Flannery and Moss, along with Katherine Kelly Lang and John McCook, are the only remaining original cast members left on the soap and are often referred to as the “core four”. Now that core four looks set to be broken up with Moss’ last appearance on the series due soon and Flannery seemingly departing in the near future. Actress Katherine Kelly Lang, who plays Brooke, has signed a new two-year contract to remain with B&B but attention may now turn on John McCook and whether or not he will remain part of the cast…
