BBC Doctors sees red

Doctors viewers are to be able to view a special week of episodes featuring the return of murderer Harrison Kellor , much to the distress of Dr. Elaine Cassidy. The five editions of the Midlands medical saga will be available via the BBC Red Button and online. Meanwhile former ITV hospital saga General Hospital is now on DVD.

Over at the Mill Medical Centre, of Doctors fame, Harrison changes his plea for Lauren’s murder to not guilty, a chain of events are set in motion which sees Alex RedmondĀ  asking for Elaine’s help. Discovering that Alex’s wife went missing after an affair with Harrison, Elaine is forced to consider that he may have killed other women too. Plagued by phone calls from Harrison in prison, will Elaine be able to confront her former lover and resist his charms?

Mike Hobson, Series Producer, says: “Lauren’s murder was one of Doctors’ most popular storylines and this Red Button event picks up on one of the show’s most chilling villains, building across the week to a dramatic conclusion.”

Starting on Monday the 17th September, viewers will be able to follow the storyline through the regular daytime episodes of Doctors on BBC One and press red straight afterwards to continue Elaine’s story.

Red Button episodes will also be available on the Doctors website. Original Midlands medical saga General Hospital, produced by ATV Network for ITV from 1972 to 1979, has recently been issued for the first time on DVD. More details can be found here.

I heard some Corrie writer saying it can’t be “everyday” life anymore. It can’t be people just talking or such. Well Doctors proves it can and still get ratings! Its a show about people not about sensational out-doing-the-last-story plots.

Long may Doctors provide quality soap to the nation!
