Katie Couric makes daytime debut
Katie Couric makes her debut on daytime television in America as she looks set to capture Oprah’s lost audience.
Her self titled show, produced by ABC, has been syndicated across America and made its premier yesterday afternoon. The first guests to appear were singers Jessica Simpson and Sheryl Crow.
Couric will be looking to secure the audience who were left behind after Oprah Winfrey quit network television after 25 years. However her main challenge could come from Ricki Lake, who made a comeback with her trash tabloid talk show on FOX.
Katie is one of the most high profile television presenters in America fronting NBC Today Show for over 15 years and then going on to anchor the CBS Evening News.
