Operation Elveden: Man bailed following morning arrest

A 31-year-old serving prison officer has been bailed after being arrested this morning by officers from Operation Elveden.


The man was arrested at his home just after 6.00am in Northampton on suspicion of conspiracy to corrupt, contrary to the Prevention of Corruption Act 1906 and on suspicion of misconduct in a public office, contrary to Common Law.
He was taken into custody at a police station in Northampton where he was later bailed to return on a date in December pending further enquiries.
