Its Hollywood for Shrewsbury

Next year the Shrewsbury Flower Show will have a touch of Hollywood as a star of The Great British Bake Off tops the bill at the event.

Celebrity artisan baker, Paul Hollywood, will be headlining the 2013 show which has been running for over 100 years.

Donna Hamer, Chairman Elect of the Shropshire Horticultural Society, says, “We are delighted to have Paul on board for next year’s Show. It is the first time we have had demonstrations from someone whose speciality is baking and we are all looking forward to seeing what Paul cooks-up.”

Paul has been a firm favourite on British TV screens since the early 2000s on shows such as Open House with Gloria Hunniford and more recently The Great British Bake Off alongside Mary Berry. He’s known for his innovative approach to baking and incredible attention to detail, he will be an exciting addition to next year’s Shrewsbury Flower Show, appearing in the Marches Food Hall at regular intervals throughout the two days.

“Plans are already underway for the 2013 event. Our anniversary celebrations this year were truly spectacular, but we are confident that next year’s Show will be bigger and better than ever.”

Having been held in the town’s Quarry Park since 1875, the Shrewsbury Flower Show has entertained generations of visitors and plans to do so for many years to come, with thousands more expected to attend next year’s Show on 9th and 10th August 2013.
