Emmerdale kills off Carl King
Emmerdale bad boy Carl King (Tom Lister) was killed off in the soap’s 40th anniversary live episode tonight.
Viewers have recently seen Carl blackmail his ex Chas Dingle (Lucy Pargeter) over her affair with Cameron Murray (Dominic Power).
In dramatic scenes tonight there was a struggle between Carl and Chas after he discovered that she had lied about running away with him – as things spiralled out of control, Chas hit Carl over the head with a brick before fleeing.
A further confrontation between Carl and Cameron saw Carl hit over the head with the brick for a second time after he continued to threaten Cameron about his affair with Chas.
The death of a character in tonight’s live episode was first announced in September with bosses keen to keep the identity of the deceased under wraps.
Fans will now be left wondering whether Chas will find out that Cameron hit Carl for a second time and who will get the blame for his death.
Carl King was the first member of the King family to arrive in Emmerdale in 2004, he was later followed by the rest of the family including father Tom (Ken Farrington), brothers Jimmy (Nick Miles) and Matt (Matt Healy) and sister-in-law Sadie (Patsy Kensit).
Tonight’s live episode also featured two births as Debbie gave birth to a son who she named Jack Sugden, and Gennie and Nikhil welcomed their baby girl into the world.
Emmerdale continues tomorrow at 7pm.
