Emmerdale Live draws 8.8m viewers
An average of 8.84 million viewers tuned in to Emmerdale Live last night.
The one hour long transmission, which marked 40 years of the soap, drew an impressive 40% share of the available audience between 7-8pm. A further 374k (1.7%) caught the episode on ITV1+1.
Once the episode had finished, 1.59m (7.2%) turned over to ITV2 for Emmerdale Live: The Fall Out with Stephen Mulhern, which featured interviews with the cast and crew involved in the production.
Emmerdale Live saw Carl King (Tom Lister) murdered by Cameron Murray (Dominic Power), the birth of two babies and the aftermath of Declan (Jason Merrells) and Katie’s (Sammy Winward) wedding which saw Declan’s sister Megan (Gaynor Faye) on the war path after being ripped off by the couple.
Emmerdale continues tonight at 7pm on ITV1.

Chas was not read her “rights” before being arrested; so her confession in the Woolpack is inadmissible in law and partly due due to her shock at Carl’s assault. No forensic evidence is being examined by the Police covering separate blows to Carl’s head, with time for coagulation between each.
