EastEnders confirms Dot return
EastEnders veteran June Brown is to reprise her role as Dot Branning on the soap, bosses have confirmed.
Dot is expected to return to Albert Square in January where she will find the Branning family “blown apart after an explosive Christmas”.
The character was last seen on-screen in May as Brown, who has played the role of the Walford busybody since 1985, took time out from the show in order to pen her memoirs and to present a BBC documentary on the elderly.
“Dot is one of EastEnders’ best-loved characters and Albert Square hasn’t been the same without her.” – Executive Producer, Lorraine Newman
Brown previously took a break from EastEnders in 2009 to appear in the stage production of Calendar Girls.
