BBC Pulls New Tricks Episode
The BBC has pulled an episode of New Tricks in light of the allegations about Jimmy Savile.
Tonight’s episode of the drama would have aired at 9pm and featured a storyline involving an under-age sex ring in a care home. However, due to the allegations surrounding Jimmy Savile the corporation has decided to delay the episode’s broadcast. A spokesperson for the BBC said ‘In light of current news events, this week’s billed episode of New Tricks will be replaced by next week’s episode.’
It is unclear when the episode of New Tricks will be screened. The series is one of BBC One’s most popular dramas regularly attracting over 7 million viewers. New Tricks stars Amanda Redman, Dennis Waterman and Alum Armstrong though both Redman and Armstrong have announced their impending departures from the series. The ninth series of the drama opened with the departure of James Bolam from the cast.
The BBC pulled the finale of drama Good Cop from its schedules last month following the deaths of police officers Fiona Bone and Nicola Hughes in Manchester.
