Ratings Hold Steady For Merlin
The latest episode of Merlin once again attracted over 5 million viewers according to overnight figures.
The third episode of the fantasy drama’s fifth season, The Death Song of Uther Pendragon, marked the return of Anthony Head as the disgruntled ghost of Camelot’s former tyrannical King. According to overnight ratings the episode was seen by 5.5 million viewers; in line with previous weeks.
The Death Song of Uther Pendragon saw Arthur (Bradley James) unwisely open up the gateway to the spirit world on the anniversary of Uther’s death to speak with his dad. However, the former King reveals he isn’t so keen on the decisions his son has made since taking over Camelot. With the gateway open Uther quickly proceeds to try and rectify some of the ‘mistakes’ he feels Arthur has made, such as marrying Gwen (Angel Coulby).
Meanwhile final ratings have been released for Arthur’s Bane, Part Two – the second episode of series five. The instalment was seen by just under 7 million viewers which represents a small drop on the first part which was seen by 7.1 million viewers. All in all the drama continues to perform very well for BBC One.
