Jade Ellis eliminated from The X Factor

Jade Ellis has become the latest act to be eliminated from The X Factor.

Ellis competed in the sing-off this week alongside boyband Union J after the pair drew the lowest number of votes from the public. Ellis performed Dido’s White Flag in the sing-off while Union J sang Perfect by Pink.
In the judges’ vote, Louis Walsh and Tulisa unsurprisingly chose to stand by their own mentees with Walsh opting to send home Ellis, while Tulisa chose to send home Union J. Nicole Scherzinger praised Ellis but opted to save Union J saying she could see how hard they had been working. The final decision was made by Gary Barlow who chose to send home Ellis, leaving Union J to continue in the competition.
Reflecting on the result, Ellis’ mentor Tulisa said she didn’t understand why her act had failed to connect with the public.
This is the first week since the live shows began that the judges have decided who will be going home – in previous weeks the decisions have been made by the public after the vote had been taken to deadlock.
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8.20pm on ITV1.
