Veronica Mars creator returns to The CW with new series

Veronica Mars creator Rob Thomas is returning to The CW with a new drama Metropolis.

The series is a remake of a British series of the same name, starring James Purefoy, that aired on ITV in 2000.
Like the original the remake follows a group of friends as they struggle to adapt to adult life post-college.
Thomas, who will write and exec produce the project, first attempted to adapt the drama for ABC in 2008 – but it was not picked up for a full series.
The original series was written by Peter Morgan and also starred James Fox and Matthew Rhys.
