Kye Sones leaves The X Factor

Kye Sones has become the latest act to leave The X Factor.

The singer was eliminated during tonight’s results show after facing Rylan Clark in the sing-off.
Clark was first to perform in the sing-off with a rendition of Kissing You by Des’ree, while Sones sang I won’t Give Up by Jason Mraz.
Nicole Scherzinger was the first judge to vote between the two acts and chose to save her own mentee Clark because he brings “light and energy to the show”. Barlow also chose to save his own act Sones stating that it was an easy decision to make.
Louis Walsh described it as an “amazing sing-off” adding that Clark had “proved he could sing” before choosing to send home Clark and save Sones. The final judge to vote was Tulisa who said that each act had given one of their “best performances” in the sing-off before admitting that she was torn over who to send home as she looks forward to Clark’s performances each week; eventually she chose to send home Sones and keep Clark in the competition.
With each act receiving two votes each the result was taken to deadlock for the fourth time this series.
Host Dermot O’Leary announced that Sones had received the lowest number of votes from the public and would therefore be leaving the competition.
Of the decision, Sones’ mentor Gary Barlow said he was angry and upset, adding: “when you have an act like Rylan in the competition, good singers go home.”
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8.05pm on ITV1.
