Battlestar Galactica Prequel Premier Date Set
The premier dateĀ of the highly anticipated Battlestar Galactica prequel Blood & Chrome has been announced.
The prequel was commissioned two years ago and work on it was completed earlier this year but until now its air-date has not been revealed. Blood & Chrome was originally announced as an online movie by Syfy before the possibility of a television series was raised if the movie rated well enough. However, it wasn’t long before that possibility was debunked and Blood & Chrome reverted back to being a one-off movie.
Battlestar Galactica fans have been patiently waiting for news of Blood & Chrome for some time now and finally Syfy has revealed details of its premier. The prequel is being rolled out in three stages, according to reports. The first part of its rollout will kick off on Friday 9th November, this week, as the first part of the movie will air on Machinima Prime (YouTube.com/MachinimaPrime). Blood & Chrome will air in instalments there, 10 instalments of varying lengths, until February. Then it will air on Syfy itself as a two-hour movie before being released on DVD/Blu-ray.
Blood & Chrome is set during the first Cylon war between the events of prequel Caprica and parent series Battlestar Galactica. The movie focuses on young fighter pilot William Adama (played by Luke Pasqualino, Skins/The Borgias) who is assigned to the Battlestar Galactica.
