All four coaches return to The Voice UK
Sir Tom Jones, will.i.am, Jessie J and Danny O’Donoghue will return for series 2 of The Voice UK.
The BBC put an end to speculation today by confirming that all four would return to the singing contest which is due back next Spring.
The first series earlier this year was won by Leanne Mitchell, who was coached by singing legend Sir Tom Jones. A number of other contestants have gone on to release singles however no contestant has had any major success.
The show peaked well in the beginning, with the blind auditions attracting over 9 million viewers. However as the series progressed into the live shows viewing figures began to drop. The BBC has promised to make changes to the second series to avoid a similar drop.
The blind audition rounds for series two will be held at the BBC’s MediaCityUK, Salford, in front of a live studio audience.
“I am so thrilled that our four coaches are coming back for series two. All of them are hugely talented individuals and their immense knowledge and first-hand experience in the music industry makes it a line-up that is authentic and second to none.” – Mark Linsey, Controller Entertainment Commissioning
The first series of The Voice UK was BBC One’s biggest new entertainment series on record with a consolidated series average of 9.2million/38.5% share.
