Ella Henderson leaves The X Factor
Ella Henderson has become the latest act to leave The X Factor.
The studio audience booed loudly as presenter Dermot O’Leary revealed that Henderson would face James Arthur in the sing-off, during tonight’s results show, after the pair drew the lowest number of votes from the public.
First to perform for the judges’ votes was Henderson singing Daniel Bedingfield hit If You’re Not The One, while Arthur sang Fallin’ by Alicia Keys.
Tulisa was the first judge to choose between the two acts declaring it “absolutely ridiculous” that they were both in the bottom two; as Henderson’s mentor, she unsurprisngly chose to send home James Arthur. Arthur’s mentor Nicole Scherzinger also expressed disdain at the result stating it would be a “tragedy” whoever is voted off the competition, before choosing to send home Henderson and keep her own act in the competition.
Louis Walsh was next to vote and after praising both acts chose to send home James Arthur, while Gary Barlow opted to send Henderson home taking the vote to deadlock.
O’Leary revealed that Henderson had the lowest number of votes and would therefore be leaving the competition.
Asked what went wrong for her act, Tulisa said: “Nothing went wrong, people thought she was safe and did not pick up the phone and vote,” adding that Henderson’s performance this weekend was “one of the best she’s ever done”.
Tulisa now has no acts remaining in the competition.
The X Factor continues next Saturday at 8.00pm on ITV1.
