Richard Arnold latest to leave Strictly Come Dancing

The Strictly Come Dancing spectacular from Wembley Arena saw former GMTV and current Daybreak personality salsa off the show.
The remaining nine couples waltzed their way across a supersized Strictly dancefloor, in front of a live audience in the arena of over 6,000 people in what the beeb describe as ‘the ultimate glitterball extravaganza’.
As ever, the fearsome foursome – Len Goodman, Darcey Bussell, Bruno Tonioli and Craig Revel Horwood – were on hand to critique each routine and award a score out of 10.
The judges decided that it was time for Richard Arnold and Erin Boag to depart the dance floor for the final time after a dance off against Nicky Byrne and Karen Hauer.

Craig chose to save Nicky, saying: “Just for sheer exuberance and energy, I am going to save Nicky and Karen”
Darcey also chose to save Nicky, saying: “Well you both performed very well tonight, but for content and energy as well, I am going to save Nicky and Karen”
“Both highly entertaining, but I have to go as well with power and content, and that was delivered by Nicky & Karen” added Bruno.

With three votes from the judges, Nicky and Karen go through to next week, while Arnold bows out from the competition.

Reflecting back on the results of tonight’s show, Arnold stated “I’ve loved it. Do you know what is amazing about this experience is that this party is happening in millions of homes around the country. The one thing I’ll take from it is that now when I walk down the street people no longer cross the road to avoid me! Now they smile, they want to chat.
It’s been amazing. You guys here have been amazing. You know how much I love you guys [the judges] and to be part of this company of players has been amazing. I know where I’ll be next week – it’s my birthday, it’s a Saturday, I’ll be with my Godchildren, with my family & friends who have been going through the whole thing, and I’ll be popping a cork and seeing who is here next week. It’s extraordinary, this show just gets better and better.
And one final thing – this is madam’s [Erin] tenth series, I call her “her indoors” and a round of applause for Erin Boag, she has made the last two months fantastic. I always thought I’d miss the wardrobe most, but I don’t think I will, I will miss Erin Boag, who – every Monday – it’s like climbing a mountain, and every Monday she’d say ‘welcome to another week. I’ll miss that on Monday”

Sunday’s Results show featured a performance from Girls Aloud singing their new song Something New, as well as the legendary pop princess Kylie Minogue, with a special rendition of her seminal classic The Locomotion.

ATV Today critic Queenie adds, “Arnold makes Daybreak unbearable to watch. Looks like he’s a good old dancer, so maybe he could take up that as a career instead, far away from the telly screens. Daybreak didn’t bring him back out of popularity darlings, it was out of desperation.”

Next week’s show will be broadcast on Saturday 24th November at 6.30pm with the results show on Sunday 25th November at 1925 on BBC One and BBC One HD.
