Christopher Maloney leaves The X Factor

Christopher Maloney has finished in third place in The X Factor final.

The Liverpudlian singer was automatically eliminated tonight after receiving the fewest amount of votes to win from the viewers.
On tonight’s show Maloney performed Flashdance… What a Feeling a hit for Irene Cara, and Take That’s Rule The World – which he performed with mentor Gary Barlow.
Maloney said: “I feel like I’ve already won,” adding that coming third is “fantastic”.
Barlow said: “Congratulations. Amazing. He’s done brilliantly.”

“Do you know what, I feel on top of the world. I feel like I’ve already won getting this far.  I’m very proud, I was the Wildcard and  I’ve come third and it’s all down to the public vote.” Maloney later told Xtra Factor presenters Caroline Flack and Olly Murs.

Maloney’s exit leaves James Arthur and Jahmene Douglas competing to be crowned the winner of the singing competition tomorrow night.
The X Factor live final continues tomorrow night at 7.40pm on ITV1.
