Jonathan Ross hosts charity poker tournament

Jonathan Ross held a charity poker tournament supported by his well-known friends on Saturday 8th December.

The event saw over £100,000 being given away and took place at No. 5 Cavendish Square, London.

Ross, who is an avid poker player, turned to the world’s largest online poker room, PokerStars, to help host the event in the iconic Mayfair venue. The tournament saw Ross and four celebrity poker friends plus one ‘member of the public’ battle it out to win a total of £105,00 at No. 5 Cavendish Square, London – which was split across charities of their choosing.

Jonathan was joined by comedians Jason Manford and John Bishop, PokerStars SportStar and tennis legend Boris Becker, and PokerStars Pro and journalist, Victoria Coren. The final seat at the table was taken by one lucky player selected from the PokerStars.com website – Adam Mohamed.

At the end of the tournament, sums from £30,000 for first place, right through to £5,000 for sixth place were donated to the players’ charities. An audience of the public and poker players watched the games live at No. 5 Cavendish Square, London.

Victoria Coren was the main winner of the event with her winnings being donated to St. John’s Hospice London. Event host Jonathan Ross came in sixth place, but still raised £5,000 for the Variety Club.
