Magic AM raises over £27,000 in annual auction
The Magic AM Network has hosted its second annual ‘12 hours of Christmas’ auction on in order to raise funds for the Cash for Kids Mission Christmas appeal. Lots included visits to Emmerdale and Hollyoaks and well as items donated by ITV personalities.The one day on-air auction will started at 8am and continued through to 8pm with live chat and guests including Mike Read, Limahl, Shakin’ Stevens and Tony Blackburn all taking part.
This year the final total raised has been revealed at £27,273 which is just slightly down on the 2011 figure which was just over £30,000.
The various items up for auction included Ant and Dec’s suits worn on Britain’s Got Talent complete with a set of script notes, Limahl’s I’m A Celebrity jungle top, vintage wine, Susan Boyle’s dress worn on the Oprah show in the US, behind-the-scenes tours of the Emmerdale and Hollyoaks sets and a fabulous trip to Sharm El Sheik.
Mission Christmas aims to support underprivileged children throughout the UK and distributed over £5.1 million in cash, toys and gifts during Christmas 2011.
