Natalie Anderson to stay with Emmerdale
Natalie Anderson, Alicia Metcalfe in Emmerdale, has signed a new year-long contract to remain with the Leeds-based Yorkshire production.
The actress recently spent six months out of the saga when her character was sent to prison. In real-life the reason was maternity leave.
“I was nervous [about returning]. I’ve been through a massive life change and it felt like I was starting again.” She told The Star, adding, “Obviously I miss [baby Freddie] like mad and I miss my husband but the storyline itself really has played with my emotions.
“I was thrown in at the deep end. It was quite strange but at the same time I surprised myself how quickly I reverted back to that work mentality.
What lays in store for Alicia in future Emmerdale storylines? If the actress has her way there will be many years ahead
“I would happily stay in Emmerdale for as long as they will have me.” She added she was “thrilled” with her new 12-month-contract.
Emmerdale airs weeknights on ITV, UTV and STV
