Eamonn Holmes to cameo on Hollyoaks
This Morning and Sky News presenter Eamonn Holmes has revealed that he’s making a guest appearance on Channel 4’s popular teen-aimed soap, Hollyoaks.
The former face of GMTV has recorded sequences for the long running saga in the Sky News studio in West London.
While the storyline itself remains a closely kept secret, actress Rachel Shenton was photographed with Holmes in the news studio which she shared on social site Twitter. Shenton plays the character of Anne “Mitzeee” Minniver who first appeared in Hollyoaks village nearly three years ago.
In the storylines the character became a well known ‘glamour celebrity’ which lead to a stalker and a spell in jail when she was set up to look like she’d attempted a murder.
Speaking on Twitter Holmes said, “Just to say @RachelShenton, thank you for being a delight to work with. Do you think the audience will take to our blossoming romance plot?”
Giving nothing away of the plot he made light of the cameo adding, “Big thanks to Hollyoaks for giving young acting talent like myself and @RachelShenton our big breaks. Valentine’s Day Special.”
Other well known faces to turn up in Hollyoaks include Coronation Street actress Julie Goodyear, Nadia Almada, winner of Big Brother in 2004, music performers Maverick Sabre and Wretch 32, Crossroads’ Colin Wells, and Radio DJ Scott Mills who appeared as a policeman. You Bet! presenter and actor Darren Day joined as a longer term character in 2010.
Press reports last month suggested popstars Girls Aloud were being lured to make a guest appearance.
