NBC News team freed in Syria

NBC-mediumNBC News’ Chief Foreign Correspondent and his team have been freed after being kidnapped in Syria.
Richard Engel and his team were kidnapped when crossing the Turkey – Syria border last week. NBC asked for a media blackout on the reporting of the incident, which came to an end yesterday when the team were released and are now back in Turkey.
NBC has said that none of the team were physically hurt in the ordeal.
Engel has been on the front line of the recent uprisings across the Arab world, notably his reporting from Libya last year. In a statement NBC News thanked those who helped secure the release of the team.
