ITV tease Saturday Night Takeaway’s 2013 return

Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway is returning to the ITV schedules after an absence of three years as the broadcaster reveal a photo from a recording of a promo for the show.

The series, which is notably influenced by Saturday night BBC hit Noel’s House Party fronted by Noel Edmonds in the 90s, returns for its tenth outing next year.

In anticipation for the entertainment shows grand return ITV popped out a teaser photo yesterday. The image shows Geordie hosts Ant and Dec in the back of a black cab.

“Look who it is… Ant and Dec.” ITV tweeted, adding “We’ve been out and about filming the ad for the new Saturday Night Takeaway today with Ant and Dec.”

The series, originally produced by London Weekend Television, hit the screens in 2002 after Ant and Dec were lured away from prime time BBC One to front programming for ITV including talent show Pop Idol.

Saturday Night Takeaway last aired in 2009. The series is being apparently lined up to be a competator against BBC One’s talent show The Voice.
