Big Brother's Emma Willis says show needs content not big stars

With the soon to return Celebrity Big Brother ever closer to transmission the usual ‘who will appear’ rumours are in overdrive. But Big Brother’s Bit On The Side host Emma Willis says it isn’t all about ‘star names’.
Some fans of the long running reality series may feel ‘let down’ by the fact the show fails to bring in major celebrity names however Willis says it isn’t such a bad thing.

“People like your Nadine Coyle and Lindsay Lohan, they are so media trained you’re never going to get anything from them” She told The Sun, adding, “Nadine Coyle, realistically, what are we going to get from her as a housemate?”

36-year-old Willis, who has fronted Big Brother’s spin off show since 2010, her first series being Channel 4’s last outing before it switched to Channel 5, believes the success of Celebrity Big Brother is down to personality rather than reputation.

“You’re not going to get A-listers on board because they don’t need to do it.” Reflecting on big names like Nadine Coyle, Willis adds, “She may be really famous but we need content.”

Stars lined-up for the series are reported to include 1970s throwback comedian Jim Davidson, The X Factor 2012’s joke act Rylan Clark and disgraced jockey Frankie Dettori.
The Sun also reports a number of soap actors are set to appear including Ryan Moloney of Channel 5’s aussie import saga Neighbours, former EastEnders actress Gillian Taylforth, Coronation Street’s former actor Sam Robertson and from axed Sunday night drama Heartbeat Tricia Penrose.
