James Arthur's Impossible Returns To Number One
X Factor winner James Arthur single Impossible has returned to Number One after narrowly missing out on the Christmas top-spot.
Arthur won the 2012 series of the X Factor beating fellow finalist Jahmene Douglas with his single Impossible hitting the top spot upon its release earlier this month. However, Arthur failed to retain the number one slot for Christmas. Instead the Hillsborough disaster tribute single He Ain’t Heavy, He’s My Brother by the Justice Collective took the top festive slot instead.
The single, which fell to number 5 this week, is raising money for the families of the 96 Liverpool fans who died at the Hillsborough disaster in 1989. Amongst those to lend their vocal talents to the single are Robbie Williams, Sir Paul McCartney and Mel B.
Will.i.am single Scream & Shout, featuring Britney Spears, took the second spot on the singles chart while Gangnam Style – which has now passed 1 billion viewers on You Tube – remains a favourite with listeners with its 3rd position. Olly Murs, former X Factor contestant, is at fourth in the singles chart with his single Trouble.
