Singer Patti Page dies aged 85
Patti Page, one of the most high profile artists of the 1950s, has died at the age of 85.
The Grammy award-winning singer had a string of number one hits in America including her biggest song, Tennessee Waltz. Page’s version of “Tennessee Waltz” was a best-selling single, and landed her concurrently on the top of the pop, country, and R&B charts.
She will also be remembered for the record (How Much Is That) Doggie In The Window. As well as a huge singing star, Patti also starred in her own television show and in numerous films.
Page will be honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award at the Grammy Awards next month.

Patti also appeared in the 1960 Hollywood Blockbuster Starring Burt Lancaster “Elmer Gantry” playing “Sister Rachel”.
It is spelt Patti Page, or if you want to be really picky she was born Clara Ann Fowler
