NBC Cuts Revolution Episode Order

Revolution-logoNBC has reportedly reduced the number of episodes it has ordered for hit new series Revolution.

The post-apocalyptic series created by Eric Kripke and produced by J.J Abrams premiered on NBC in September with 11.6 million viewers. After just three episodes had aired NBC picked up Revolution for a full season of 22 episodes but now it appears that the broadcaster has decided to chop two episodes off its order.

The first hint of this was at the Television Critics Association winter tour in Pasadena when NBC boss Robert Greenblatt referred to the “last 10 episodes” of Revolution yet to air – if there were 22 episodes in the season the number should have been 12. An NBC spokesperson later confirmed to The Futon Critic that only ten more episodes of Revolution will air this season.

The cut in the number of episodes maybe down to budgetary reasons or because of its extended hiatus. Revolution went on hiatus in November and isn’t due to return to NBC until March. It’s extended hiatus was raised by reporters at the winter tour and Greenblatt defended NBC’s decision to take Revolution off for several months: you can read more about that here >>
