James Cromwell Joins Do No Harm

NBC-whiteJames Cromwell is to join the cast of NBC’s forthcoming new thriller Do No Harm.

TV Line reports that Cromwell has been added to the cast of the Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde inspired series. Do No Harm is set to premier on NBC at the end of January and Cromwell is set to appear in at least three episodes. Do No Harm stars Steven Pasquale as Dr. Jason Cole, a ‘brilliant surgeon’ who struggles to contain his dangerous alter ego Ian. Cromwell will play Jason’s mentor.

Cromwell is currently playing Arthur Arden on FX’s anthology series American Horror Story: Asylum. The veteran actor has a long list of credits to his name; last year he appeared in three episodes of Broadwalk Empire and his other roles include 24, Six Feet Under, Angels in America, ER, L.A Confidential and Easy Street. The actor has also played several roles in various Star Trek incarnations including a leading role in the 1996 film Star Trek: First Contact.

His other film roles include Babe and its sequel as well as the critically acclaimed The Queen in which he played Prince Philip opposite Helen Mirren as Queen Elisabeth II. The acclaimed film dealt with the aftermath of Prince Diana’s death in 1997 and the Royal Family’s struggle to cope with the death and the backlash following it.
