Neil Patrick Harris Accused Of ‘Mocking Christianity’ In New Super Bowl Add

Neil Patrick Harris, one of the stars of CBS comedy How I Met Your Mother, has been accused of pushing a “gay agenda” and “mocking Christianity”.

The bizarre accusations are over a promotional piece by the actor for the Super Bowl finale in February. In the promo Neil Patrick Harris sports eyeblack with the words “Feb 3, 2013”, the date of the Super Bowl final. However, some in America have seemingly decide that the actor is somehow mocking Christianity and promoting a “gay agenda” at the same time.

According to Pink News the conservative news site WND has published an article with criticism of the openly gay actor. The article reads “CBS, the television network airing the big game this year, is now using an outspoken homosexual actor to mimic Tim Tebow’s style of trumpeting messages in eyeblack on his face.” The article goes on to say “They’re pushing a gay agenda by using him, and they’re mocking Christians at the same time.”

Neil Patrick Harris has responded to the odd claims via Twitter in which he stated “I must say I’m very excited for the Super Bowl. I love football – look forward to it every year. #noagenda.”

The actor is currently part of the cast of CBS’s hit comedy series How I Met Your Mother; he revealed he was gay, publicly, in 2006. The actor’s first big break was playing the title role in the children’s show Doogie Howser, M.D which ran between 1989 and 1993. Patrick Harris is also known for his part in Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along.
