Joseph Millson hopes for Holby City Return

Actor Joseph Millson may have just departed television screens as Holby City‘s trauma registrar Luc Hemingway however a return to the BBC One medical saga isn’t being ruled out.

“I sincerely hope he might find his way back into the world of Holby again one day.” Millson told The Sun.

Speaking of the role, which he’s played for just over a year, he told the newspaper “Luc was the most three dimensional of characters and I thank the writers for him. He is so different from me and although a troubled soul he was and will continue to be an inspiration to me in real life.”

The beeb describe the character as a unconventional and supremely intelligent wanderlust-filled traveller who revels in medical minutiae and can spot diagnoses others might miss.

His scant regard for hierarchy or politicking means he is more comfortable with those on the fringes of society. Luc’s ironic humour and Zen-like approach is often endearing although he rarely lets people get close.

In recent plots the character was suspended after using an untested drug, and stripping off in the hospital. Such erratic behaviour lead to Hemingway being seen by a psychiatrist however last night it was time to say farewell to Holby, with the special stand-alone episode featuring sequences recorded in Sweden.

“It’s always sad when such a dishy doctor departs Holby City, especially one that can act too. Tuesday nights just won’t be the same.” Said one half of ATV Today’s showbiz experts Vivian Summers.
