George R.R Martin Reveals Episode Title For His New Game of Thrones Episode

Game-of-ThronesGeorge R.R Martin, creator and writer of the Game of Thrones book series, has revealed the new title for his third season episode of the HBO drama based on his work.

Martin pens one episode per season of HBO’s epic Game of Thrones; his season two episode was the mighty Blackwater which featured the ‘battle of Blackwater’. The penultimate episode of the second season saw in contender to the Iron Throne Stannis (Stephen Dillane) try to capture the Kings Landing but is repelled by the arrival of Tywin Lannister (Charles Dance) and Loras Tyrell (Finn Jones) and their forces.

In a blog entry on his Livejournal page the writer revealed that his third season episode has recently undergone a title change – something he is pleased about. Martin explained “The episode I scripted for the third season of HBO’s Game of Thrones has been retitled.  It was formerly “Autumn Storms,” which I never much liked… but the episode did have a lot of rain in it. The rain went away. So did the title. The episode is now “Chains.” I like that better. And it works on both a literal and metaphorical level. It will still be the seventh show of the season, episode 307.!”

The third season of Game of Thrones will premier on HBO on March 31st and a day later on Sky Atlantic in the UK. New additions to the cast for the third season include Dame Diana Rigg, Tara Fitzgerald and Ciaran Hinds.
