Vegas to air on Sky Atlantic next month

Sky AtlanticAs reported last year Sky has picked up a host of American series to air in the UK, including Elementary, The Following and Arrow. Now details of broadcast for the American hit drama, Vegas, starring Dennis Quaid and Michael Chiklis has been revealed with the programme airing on Sky Atlantic from February.

Sky Atlantic confirmed yesterday that period drama Vegas will launch on the channel in February. Created by Academy Award-nominated Nicholas Pileggi and Greg Walker, the drama is inspired by the true story of former Las Vegas Sheriff Ralph Lamb, a fourth-generation rancher tasked with bringing order to the city in the 1960s.

1960s Las Vegas is swelling with outsiders and corruption as the gambling and entertainment mecca is emerging from the tumbleweeds. Lamb (Dennis Quaid) is looking into the murder of a casino work and comes across Vincent Savino (Michael Chiklis), a ruthless Chicago gangster who plans to make Vegas his own. The two become engaged in a fierce battle for control of the budding oasis and, for both, folding is not an option.

Vegas also stars Jason O’Mara as Lamb’s brother, Jack, and Taylor Handley as his son, Dixon. Carrie-Anne Moss plays the ambitious Assistant District Attorney, Katherine O’Connell. Sarah Jones joins the cast in the second episode as Mia Rizzo, count room manager at Savino’s casino and daughter of a Chicago mob boss.

The Following will debut on Tuesday the 22nd January, the day after the US premiere.
