Mary J Blige none judgmental ‘like God’ over same-sex relationships

Singer Mary J Blige recently spoke of how being a ‘born again Christian’ doesn’t clash with her support of same-sex marriage.

41-year-old Blige told LA Confidential Magazine that “God said not to judge anyone lest you be judged. That’s it. Who am I to point my finger?”

The No More Drama singer adds, “You’ve got to walk in love. To say you do not want people to be happy is so mean, so not me.”

She also told the publication she considers herself a born again Christian, and that being so isn’t a conflict with her support for marriage equality.

When suggested some people would suggest it was a ‘conflict of interests’ she noted, “I would say this to those people, I’m not God,”

“God loves me no matter what. He loves me high. Sober. Gay. Straight. I can’t let the world tell me anything different. That’s how I survived, knowing He loved me no matter what. Because if I don’t believe that God loves me when I do wrong, I’m dead.” She concluded referencing her struggles with drink and drugs.

Previously Mary has spoken of her large loyal gay following, and how she will always support them.
