Splash! Continues To Perform Well

Splash-Tom-Daley-ITVCelebrity diving series Splash!, featuring Olympian Tom Daley, continues to deliver good ratings for ITV despite lampooning from critics.

Splash! maybe devoid of celebrities of any calibre but it certainly isn’t devoid of viewers; for whatever reason the diving series continues to attract strong audiences for ITV on Saturday evenings. According to overnight figures for Saturday’s edition an average audience of 5.2 million viewers tuned in. Amongst the ‘celebrities’ taking part in the series are Caprice, Tina Malone – who admitted the series was rubbish – and Joey Essex. Olympian Tom Daley is the coach for the celebrities while Gaby Logan and Vernon Kay are the presenters.

Meanwhile Clare Balding’s new BBC One series Britain’s Brightest pulled in 4.6 million viewers. Long running medical saga Casualty had 5.4 million viewers while a repeat of Brendan O’Carroll’s sitcom Mrs Brown’s Boys – an episode first shown last Monday – was seen by 4.1 million viewers. The Saturday evening repeats of Mrs Brown’s Boys are proving popular with viewers adding several million more viewers onto the original screening figures.
